The latest quarterly sales report from General Motors was released on Tuesday and it shows that a total of 8,409 Corvettes were delivered during the 3rd quarter, which ended on September 30th. That’s 5.9% better than the same time a year ago that saw 7,939 Corvettes delivered during the 3rd quarter 2022.
For the Calendar Year to Date sales figures, Chevrolet delivered 25,438 Corvettes from January 1st through September 30th. That was an increase of just 58 Corvettes (or 0.2%) over the 25,380 that were delivered during the same time frame in 2022.
These are some solid sales numbers for the quarter, but unfortunately, we do not know the role of those 400 or so 2023 Corvette Z06s stuck at the plant and still waiting to have parts retrofitted. We have a feeling that total 3rd quarter deliveries would have been closer to 9,000 had those Corvettes had the parts to finish the build so they could be invoiced, shipped to the dealer, and then delivered to the customer.
Chevrolet also this week increased pricing of all 2024 Corvette models by an additional $2,000. Between that increase and where the interest rates are today, will we finally see demand for America’s favorite sports car start to cool? With many dealers still having lengthy reservations lists, I’m not sure the price increase will really put a dent sales moving forward.

DETROIT — General Motors Co. (NYSE: GM) and its dealers delivered 674,336 vehicles in the U.S. in the third quarter of 2023, up 21% year-over-year.
Strong customer demand for GM’s portfolio of trucks and SUVs drove sales growth across all its brands in the third quarter. GM’s total sales are up 19% for the calendar year.

What about the cars sitting at the factory? Mine was built on October 2 and still sitting.
