Winning at the 24 Hours of Le Mans is a life-long dream for many racers and those who are successful carry that moment with them for the rest of their lives. While those winning their classes are given a trophy and bottle of champaign to celebrate, the three drivers that win at Le Mans overall also receive a Rolex watch.
Corvette Racing’s Ben Keating was a major factor in Corvette Racing’s stomp though the FIA’s World Endurance Championship with the team clinching the title at Monza with two races left to go. He calls the decision of Le Mans organizers only awarding the Rolex watches to the overall winners as unacceptable, and so he took matters into his own hands by gifting his co-drivers Nicky Catsburg and Nico Verrone (and himself) with new Rolex watches from a Texas jewelry store.
We caught news of the fine gesture from Nicky Catsburg who posted the pics to Twitter:
@nickcatsburg and @nicovarrone This was well earned by all 3 of us, and a fun way to recognize our year. Thank you @nickBoulle and @deboulle for the assistance. https://t.co/OYoYRuSkSg

At the @FIAWEC Le Mans 24h, the overall winners get a @ROLEX watch. The same can’t be said for the class winners unfortunately. Which is unfortunate and questionable 😇.
For @keatingcarguy this wasn’t acceptable and to commemorate our 2023 class win at Le Mans, HE GOT US ONE ❤️
Ben had the back of the three watches inscribed with the 100th Le Mans logo, and it says “Winner 2023 GTE Class.”
Congratulations again to the No. 33 Corvette Racing team for the dream season they had. Nicky will be coming stateside next year to race with the IMSA team, and we hope that Ben Keating and Nico Varrone will find continued success wherever they may land.

Great gesture on Ben’s part. Would love to see all 3 of them in Corvettes again next year!
Wow! One of the absolute most difficult watches to get in the world and he gets three from one dealer 😉 Good on you, Ben!
Class “ACT”
Good luck to them on the new team next year
