Summer DIY projects from Zip Corvette

Summertime is the perfect time to dig into some DIY projects with your Corvette and Zip can help!

Corvette Magazine is Zip’s online community of Corvette tips and technical articles for fans of every Corvette generation.

A gold mine of DIY technical know-how, Corvette Magazine features nearly 150 articles that walk you through how to repair, maintain or upgrade your Corvette with step-by-step instructions and photos. Here is just a sample of what you will find:

1963-1982 Corvette Body Mount Replacement

There are only 8 body mounts on 1963-1982 Corvettes so replacing them isn’t too daunting. If a Corvette has led a truly dry, garaged life, body mount replacement is straightforward. But it’s more complex for Corvettes that have accumulated corrosion on their steel components. Either way, Zip’s series of 3 tech articles will walk you through the process.

1984-2004 Corvette Stainless Steel Brake Hose Installation

Stainless steel brake lines are superior to the original equipment rubber brake hoses found on your C4 or C5 Corvette. Over time, rubber hoses dry out and crack and this leads to leaks and an eventual rupture. If the most aggressive driving you do with your Corvette is in a car show parade, your factory hoses are fine. Just have them inspected when you get your brake pads changed out between 60-80,000 miles. But, for those of you who are used to changing brake pads at 5 to 10,000 miles (or less), get rid of those hoses and install a set of stainless steel lines. Zip can show you how!

C6-C8 Corvette Dry Sump Oiling System Service

Corvette engines with dry-sump oiling systems have been either optional or standard since 2006. There are definite advantages of dry-sump oiling, but the process of checking and changing your oil in a dry-sump engine is different than the norm. Zip breaks it down for you in an easy to follow format.
