If you’re a child of the ’80s, you might be interested in one of the latest cars featured on Barn Finds: a 1974 Corvette Stingray coupe currently owned by rockstar Jon Bon Jovi (or if you’re into actual legal names, John Bongiovi).
Bon Jovi’s red Corvette is currently for sale on eBay Motors, and the auction is proving to be equally as red hot so far, with 75 bids climbing to a high of $21,212 though still shy of the reserve with three days remaining. Knowing Bon Jovi’s rear end has actually been in the driver’s seat and his hand on the gear shift lever means a lot to some folks, huh?
No word on exactly why the New Jersey rocker is parting with the car described in the listing as “much loved by his family and himself,” but we are told his vintage C3 – said to be “just as much a rockstar as the man himself” – is not a trailer queen, “gets driven regularly,” and “turns every head.”
We agree the red paint definitely looks great, and the white interior is just as sparkling. “Everything works to factory specs or better,” the ad claims, “and she’s everything you’d expect from celebrity-owned muscle car. Place your bid in complete confidence that you are getting a stunning Stingray in excellent condition!”
A prudent buyer might be wise not to fall totally head over heels for the car’s ownership history, however. While the condition of the Corvette appears to be excellent inside and out based on the photos with the listing, we’re a little concerned that it’s being promoted by the selling company as “numbers matching” because the most powerful engine available in ’74 pumped out only 270 horsepower. This one has a decal on the chrome breather proclaiming it’s a 350 Turbo-Fire producing 370 horsepower.
The coolest part about the car, though – if you’re a rock fan – might well be the odometer mileage statement with the signature of the man himself (or actually his legal signature of John Bongiovi).
Finally, we wonder if there is some special meaning about the year 1974 for Jon himself to explain why he didn’t go for a more historically significant C3, or maybe he just likes the way it looks! Definitely nothing wrong with that. What do you think?

Interesting.
I first saw this a few days ago on some other car website and I immediately wondered then what could spur him to own a 74 considering he could own any Corvettes he could possibly want. We all know 74 wasn’t exactly a great year for Corvette.
While it’s a very nice ’74, it’s still a ’74 which is the beginning of the “Dead Years”. A celebrity had their ass on the seat and their hand on the gearshift? WHOOPEE, thanks, but I’ll pass.
74’ is my favourite year. And these performance figures everyone talks about is non-sense, considering they had better
0-60 mph times than a lot of so called ‘peak’ muscle car era vehicles!
Maybe he is selling because the NJ tax collector caught on to his tax exempt home being a farm scam. He and Bruce Springding have used that loop hole in Jersey for years.
