[VIDEO] New Teasers for the 2024 Corvette E-Ray Are Out Today

Chevrolet dropped two new videos today for the 2024 Corvette E-Ray Academy Series. These videos are designed to educate and inform those interested in the first hybrid performance sports car from Chevy, and we got the notification of the new videos by signing up for E-Ray updates on Chevrolet.com.

The first video is called “Conquer the Conditions” and it features development engineers Stefan Frick and Cody Bulkley talking about the various road conditions that the E-Ray was tested on, as well as how the AWD system looks at the current road conditions and can quickly adapt to handle any kind of surface.

Frick says that when they were testing the E-Ray, they did some drives during winter looking for snowy mountain roads and weather conditions that the E-Ray couldn’t handle or overcome, and he says they weren’t able to find that. We are also told that while the E-Ray is being presented as an easy-to-drive touring car, it’s also a weapon on the track. “It really brings all of these systems together to be that ultimate Corvette. The E-Ray completely breaks the mold of being a of a fair-weather sportscar.”

The second video launched today is called “Corvette Electrified” and it goes into detail of what makes the E-Ray, how is the electric battery charged, and the 0-60 mph and quarter mile performance times that you can expect in an E-Ray.

The video features Corvette Team members Stefan Frick and Mike Kutcher. Stefan says “The acceleration of the E-Ray is like a roller coaster. It takes off, it puts you back in the seat and it just holds you there” which is pretty much what everyone is saying about the new Corvette. Kutcher says the high-voltage 1.9 kWh battery is recharged “solely through regenerative energy capture,” to which Frick adds “the Charge+ feature is a way to rapidly charge up the battery to its full capacity and it really expands the capability envelope of the whole car.”

These teaser videos do provide some great info, but we are looking forward to getting some real news about the car including the E-Ray order guide and pricing for the new car. We expect both those items to drop in July. We will also be watching for signs that the E-Ray can be ordered right away for 2024 or if there will be a delay in the launch. Harlan Charles indicated at the NCM Bash during the team’s Q&A session that there will be no delay in ordering and delivering the new Corvette.

  1. Now is GM training their tech’s to work on these cars and have the equipment to fix them. It doesn’t sound like many dealer’s can even change tires on the Z06 carbon fiber rims.

  2. I read on R&T that ya boy Speed Phenom took his new Z06 to a Chevrolet dealer for tire service. The service tech gouged up his high dollar carbon fiber wheel with their equipment and dropped the wheel on the floor. That’s messed up!

  3. With wheels like that, I would go where they have experience working on those wheels. Not where they “should” know how to work on them but don’t.
