Last summer, Chevrolet announced a new program to reward buyers of the 2023 Corvette Z06 for their loyalty with 500,000 Reward Points valued at $5,000 if they didn’t sell their car within six months of taking delivery. For those buyers who were planning on owning their cars long-term, the incentive program’s reward could be used for anything offered by Chevrolet including parts and accessories, service visits, and buyers could even use the points to pay down the loan through GM financial. Just sign on the dotted line, hold the car six months, and those points will be yours is how the program was understood.

But a couple weeks ago, YouTuber Speed Phenom created quite a stir when he announced that he had been denied his 500,000 Chevrolet Rewards points due to a technicality for not registering correctly for the rewards program within the first 30 days. Speed blames the misunderstanding on the original buyer’s contract that didn’t stipulate the 30-day registration window.

Thankfully, it appears that Chevrolet has researched the issue and has made an adjustment to the registration requirements to grant additional time for Z06 buyers to register for the rewards program.

Speed Phenom presented that good news on Friday morning in a new video from the cockpit of his Z06. Reading an email from a Chevrolet representative, Speed says that all 2023 Corvette Z06 customers have until December 1st, 2023 to enroll in the Chevrolet Rewards program to be eligible for the 500,000 rewards points that are valued at $5,000.

His video included the following excerpt of an email from Chevrolet:

Chevrolet is adjusting the program that rewards 2023 Corvette Z06 owners for retaining their vehicle for 6 months in order to make the benefit to customers more clear. All 2023 Corvette Z06 customers have until December 1, 2023 to enroll in My Chevrolet Rewards to be eligible for the 500,000 point vehicle retention award.

Documentation signed by the customer will be updated to state that enrolling in My Chevrolet Rewards is required for claiming points. It will also alert customers that points will be uploaded 45 days after the customer reaches 6 months of ownership and is enrolled in the My GM Rewards program. This allows for Chevrolet to verify ownership status meets program requirements.

My Chevrolet Rewards points can be redeemed toward the purchase of Chevrolet vehicles, accessories, parts, service and more.

In order to receive points for the vehicle purchase or lease, customers must enroll in My Chevrolet Rewards within 30 days of the vehicle purchase/delivery.”

That final line references the points you receive by purchasing your new Chevrolet vehicle. In addition to the Z06’s vehicle retention points, buyers also receive points based on the purchase price of their new Corvette, and he his saying that you still need to sign up to the rewards program within 30 days to get those purchase points.

This is great news and we are glad to see Chevrolet taking steps to ensure that they deliver on this promised reward for ownership loyalty. We have reached out to Chevrolet and they have confirmed these details. Watch the video from Speed Phenom regarding the Rewards Program changes:

Let’s offer Speed Phenom a big thanks for bringing this issue to the forefront and using his platform to create a positive outcome for all Z06 buyers.

  1. Frankly, I don’t get registering in the first place. It should be that the factory verifies at the end of 6 months that you still have the car and that is it.

  2. I got points when I signed up for my Corvette and it was enough to buy a bottle of wax at my dealership.
