[VIDEO] Corvette Z06 with Z07 Beats Porsche with a timed Hot Lap at Magny-Cours in France

Nicolas Gourdol of Motorsports Magazine got the opportunity to run the new 2023 Corvette Z06 with the Z07 Performance Package at the Nevers Magny-Cours in central France and the car did not disappoint as it knocked out the second fastest lap at the track from Porsche.

For some additional context, the circuit was previously the home for the F1 French Grand Prix back in the day, and the track is 2.741 miles in length with 17 turns.

Nicolas takes a warm-up lap and then goes for time and we get to watch both a POV segment from the driver’s helmet before switching to a Garmin Catalyst PDR-styled view with telemetry.

Once the laps are done, we are shown the leaderboard for Motorsports Magazine’s previous tests and the Corvette Z06 now sits at number two with a lap time of 1:15.23, beating the Porsche 991/2 GT2 RS time of 1:15.91 while the Porsche 992 GT3 RS slips to fourth with a time of 1:15.96. If you wondering which sports car is the top dog at the track, that would be the McLaren Senna with a track time of 1:14.93.

According to the article at CarFans.FR, it was a cold day at the track and the Corvette was already doing well with its worn tires. However, when it was ready to run the timed laps, the magazine had brand new Michelin Cup2Rs in tire warmers ready for the car.
