[VIDEO] C6 Corvette Grand Sports Whips Three Foes at the Drag Strip


Chevy made the switch to a mid-engine format because engineers said they had gotten everything they could out of the front-engine format.

Well, there’s apparently still some life left in those previous generations. Just ask the opponents of this souped-up C6 Corvette Grand Sport piloted by Chad Fegley at Sick Week 2023 and Street Car Takeover.

Fegley’s six-speed manual red Corvette makes quick work of two Ford Mustangs and a Subaru Impreza WRX hatchback in some of the most dominating competition we’ve seen on DRAGS (Drag Racing and Car Stuff).

First up, the Corvette rips a white fox body Mustang a new one, zooming to a time of 7.677 seconds @ 174.32 mph, compared to the Mustang’s 12.501 @ 111.23 mph.

Believe it or not, but Fegley beat that time in his next matchup against an S550 Mustang, recording what the announcer believes might be one of his best times ever at 7.470 @ 193.99 mph. Ordinarily, the Mustang might have won with its 9.642 @ 141.76 mph, but not that day!

Next up was a black Subaru, which stuttered on the green light and fell behind quickly, managing a 12.5 @ 112 mph to the Corvette’s impressive 7.486 @ 193.82 mph.
