[VIDEO] Speed Phenom Takes on COTA in his 2023 Corvette Z06


We were real excited to hear that Speed Phenom took his 2023 Corvette Z06 out to Circuit of the Americas (COTA) for some on-track action and he finally dropped that video this morning.

On Speed Phenom’s first lap out, take notice as you can see his timer start recording his first lap. This is supposed to be his recon lap, but that first time was fast and showed the C8 Corvette Z06 can do a sub-2:20 lap stock with Speed clocking in at 2:19.48.

We went to FastestLaps.com and after filtering out non-street legal, motorcycles, and modified cars, we got this list:

Next up, the clouds clear and its sunny. Now comes the time for more laps and more track battles featuring a variety of sports cars. We see some 911s, a couple other Corvettes and a Viper during that track attack.

Afterwards, Speed offers an action report saying his temps held steady at around 180-185 degrees while oil temperature 180-degrees as well. He also says the Michelin Cup 2Rs are a huge upgrade over the tires on his previous Stingrays.

  4. He does seem light in the loafers but I think his videos are a bit informative unlike some of the other guys and that gal who are all about look at me.

  5. John, it’s not being a whiner. Some of us have loved the Corvette our whole lives because we saw it as a representation of our values and an extension of our personalities. The LGBTQueen Phenoms of the world are encroaching on that and it’s ruining the mood. Think of it less as whining and more of ‘get off my lawn’. Pronoun Phenom can go race Miatas or Mustangs and fit right in. If these kinda people are going to be associated with Corvette I’m gonna have to ‘straight flight’ to another brand.

  6. Jim, enough with the personal attacks on Speed Phenom. You know nothing about the guy, and your generalizations are ridiculous. Nobody else has raced their Z06 at COTA, which is why he is on here. If you want to give up on Corvette because people you don’t like are buying the car, that’s on you.   7. I’ve done some SCCA GT3 road racing in my younger years along with auto-x on a national level. While some may find SP annoying, I can say he’s the real deal with regards to his driving skills and interpretation of the various cars. I thought his closing statements in this video showed maturity with a bit of modesty. He’s managed to do a lot of performance driving in a short period of time…lucky him!
