Today was Supposed to Be Z06 Allocation Day for February Orders, But Instead...

Dealers got a big fat ZERO.

We’ve had today’s date circled on our calendar since November 22nd, as that is when Chevrolet outlined December-February order cycles for the Stingray and the Z06. The Z06 allocation schedule showed today as the day for the order cycle to start.

Like we have done on the previous order cycles, we started calling up dealers and asking how many allocations they received this morning. Unfortunately, today looks to be a bust as every single dealer told us their allocation for the Z06 was ZERO.

That really is not what we wanted to hear because it did seem like we were starting to make some real progress on the car last month. But everything changed at in February with a nine-day layoff at the beginning of the month with no Z06s produced, and now we are in the middle of a week off because of parts supply issues.

What we don’t know, and your dealers don’t know this either, is if this is just a delay for this month’s order cycle or will it be canceled altogether. Here’s a couple of the official constraints that Chevy sent out to dealers today:

FYI, the last production count for the Z06 shows 847 regular cars and 122 Anniversary Corvettes. That’s 969 total Z06s for the 2023 model year so far, with only 74 coming so far in February.

  1. GM is useless. Been waiting 11 months for my C8. May not be delivered to 2024. Will it now be a 2024?

  2. Imagine that! Another broken promise! You see these vehicles everywhere, but not for the loyal Corvette enthusiasts.

  3. Placed my reservation for a Z06 in April 2020. Sold my C6 in June. Got my preliminary Order Detail Order # September 2022. @ status 1100. Got more bad news today no allocations for this month. Going to my cardiologist on Monday for stronger blood pressure medication.

  4. What is all this talk about the Z06? It isn’t news that Z06 ordering is done for the model year as indicated on the constraint report you have pictured, although it looks like you truncated the duration column. If the order isn’t placed, it isn’t happening.

  5. They’re saving the Z06 parts (minus engine) for the stupid Eray. They shouldve never put the Eray in production until this parts shortage is over.

  6. My 2015 triple blk convertible has 20,000 miles on it.3LT Z51.After all the mark -ups on the mid engine my ragtop looks better and better each day.It still attracts lots of attention in the beautiful city of tucson.

  7. Why would GM unveil another C8 model, speaking about the 2024 Eray when they can’t complete the 2023 model year.
    Sounds “Bas-ackwards” to me???

  8. I hope GM goes bankrupt for what they’ve done to the Corvette. I don’t mind the mid engine, or the flat place V8. What I hate is how they solidly removed the Corvette as the “middle class sports car” and instantly delivered it to the hands of only the wealthy. For that, GM and all of their executives should burn. I hope this car is the needle that breaks them in half.

  9. Many people may accuse me of being jealous but I assure everyone that is NOT THE CASE! I turned 63 today & I’ve had more than enough money to buy a fully loaded Z06! But my 06-C6-6spd-Z51Vert (now hdtop) has easily 50k in upgrades & built her now 750Supercharged HP & hugely upgraded suspension can hold her own against ANY CAR! She still brings me smiles & happiness every drive & most of these folks that buy these incredible cars don’t know jackshit about how to drive them anyway! So I’m happy with my baby!!
