[VIDEO] The Stradman is Selling his 2023 Corvette Z06 Due to Financial Issues

That didn’t last long!

Of course, we are talking about the Stradman’s ownership of his Accelerate Yellow 2023 Corvette Z06 that he just purchased in November. Now, we’ve learned that the popular YouTuber is selling the car on Cars and Bids and the latest bid has already surpassed the car’s original $172,550 MSRP.

“I’ve got bad news,” says the Stradman as he is reversing his Z06 outside to his driveway. I’m selling the Corvette…I’m selling everything. I’m going bankrupt!”

Okay, so he is somewhat joking about going bankrupt, and he says “Well, at least not yet.” But the Corvette is for sale, his Toyota Supra is for sale, and he just sold his Nissan GT.R.

The Stradman says there is one reason and one reason only he is selling the Corvette. “I need the money. I got destroyed on this house. It absolutely annihilated me. The original budget was $2 million, and we are now over $3 million, and there’s still hundreds of thousands of dollars still needed on the house, that’s why we’re selling the Corvette Z06.”

The Stradman then takes us through all the options on the Z06 and gives a nice shoutout to Doug DeMuro who owns the Cars and Bids website. The Stradman also states the news about the Z06’s warranty, or lack of one which is what happens by him selling the car before six months had passed. A disclaimer on the Cars and Bids website also states that no factory warranty is available with the car.

After a brief run to his Chevy dealer to drop off his Hummer EV for service, he’s back home and continues his conversation on selling the Z06:

“I want to continue the discussion on my pending financial destruction, my looming bankruptcy. I built my dream house during the worst time to build a house in the last 50 years and that’s factual. You could call it bad luck, you could call me an idiot, you could tell me you told me so. The one thing I know for sure, it’s very easy to predict the future in retrospect. Remember that lumber prices on the day I paid for lumber was an all-time record high, and today they have dropped dramatically. Interest rates. The day I closed on my loan they were double the interest rate they were six months prior.”

But just because the Stradman is selling off some of the cars in his collection, that doesn’t mean you’ll never see something new again. The Stradman has 15 cars in his collection with 13 of them fully paid for. He says he’ll take one hundred thousand dollars from the sale of the Z06 to put in his house, but he is considering spending another $100K on one of two cars – a Nissan 400Z or the Toyota Mark V Supra Manual.

As of Wednesday morning, the Z06 auction has attracted 22 bids with the high bid now at $195,000. The auction is scheduled to close on Tuesday, February 14th at 2:10 PM EST.

  1. Oh poor Stradman. What a bs story. Rich azz that can’t manage his projects. I feel so sorry for him. N.O.T.

  2. Anybody believes that story they’re an idiot all he’s trying to do is capitalize on the big money the Z06 is bringing right now it’s the old thing money money

  3. What utter bullshit. He invested in the car knowing he could flip it, likely double his money, and finance a good chunk that home he’d undoubtedly already planned to build well in advance.

  4. Just when I thought Z06 pricing stories couldn’t get any more ridiculous.
    Clearly, I was wrong.

  5. He’s probably selling it for the same reason most of the ‘influencers’ ditched the stingray originally – they can’t mod it. Outside the ‘hey look what I got’ and the initial review, there’s not a lot you can do with it as far as content goes. The other issue – and I’m having the same problem with my car – the C8 doesn’t have a personality. It’s cold and sterile and soulless. It’s missing the underdog bruiser attitude. It doesn’t have a manual, it doesn’t do burn outs, it doesn’t drift – heck, it’s one super cruise option away from not even needing me in it. It’s like one of your best friends suddenly adopting a fake British accent and trying to impress other people. I liked that the Europeans didn’t like it. It was fun, it angered the snooty elitists and Joe the Plumber could reach a little bit and afford one. Not any more.

There’s a reason people are paying huge money for 2019 ZR1’s. That will probably be the last time GM ever got it totally right.

  6. Thanks, Jim, you got it so right on the C8 and GM I don’t have to repeat why my next ride will be from “Yurrup” (despite having been a loyal Vette owner since 1962). GM/Chevy has no loyalty to their base.

  7. I’ve been a long time, loyal subscriber to Corvette Blogger and I don’t have any interest in watching videos of this loud mouthed, hyperventilating idiot on here. I’ve tried watching some of his videos and all they did was turn my stomach. As far as being an influencer and promoter of our beloved Corvette goes, I think the Stradman is about totally useless and he isn’t worth a pimple on my ass. By the way Stradman, I think it’s hilarious you have to sell your Z06. Dumping a new Z06 and then buying a new Nissan Z or Toyota Supra is just plain stupid too.

  8. YO Billie G, are you kidding with that comment? do you actually feel sorry for jerks like this and the fact, as he states, that his 2 million dollar, that’s right 2 MILLION dollar home, is running over budget to the tune of 3 plus million dollars, give me a break!

  9. Don’t care about this idiots problems, but building a house in CA. is ridiculous and easily wipes out any planned budget. Great state, just run by idiots.

  10. Maybe GM should rethink about giving YouTube influencers first shot at these cars because 2out of 3 that I see on YouTube are selling them, Stradman,TJ Hunt refused his delivery and the guy that bought it Street Speed 717 is selling it now also. That took 2 allocation’s away from the dealership I have a deposit since 03/2020 this is not right.

  11. I see a lot of jealousy in the posts on here most knowing very little about James. I see no intellectual statements as to the actual facts for the reasons he is selling. One being lumber prices sky rocketing and interest rates doubling. Unless your a prognosticator and can predict the future your statements are crap.

  12. @jim / can’t do burn outs? Can’t drift? You obviously haven’t driven one or don’t know how. It does both…but those tires oh those tires $$$$$$$$

  13. The new owner is going to be up shit Creek when the Z06 engine throws a rod, or suffers any number of catastrophic failure before the 36k or 3 year warranty is up. Those engines are hand built. Who ever buys is just as much a jackass.

  14. @terrence not disputing you but whoever buys a race car at $200k+ isn’t all that concerned about no warranty.

I’m pretty sure emilias twin turboed z06 has a worthless warranty now.

Also, if you’re old enough back in the 60’s hemis were sold with a 30 day warranty a hand shake and a good luck and tgar didn’t seem to bother those who wanted them for what they were. Street legal race cars.

And I don’t know if hand built is a negative or positive. I’m leaning toward positive.

And when you factor in that if the new owner can buy a third party warranty or if it does explode there will be a line of other deep pockets lined up to buy it with whatever problems it does have.

These cars come with $100k+ on equity performance wise anyway.

    Warranty shwarranty

  15. What said a story!! Of all the cars you have, you are just flipping it to make a quick Buck. If you really needed money you could have sold a couple of your other cars for more money but not as much profit. There are thousands of Loyal GM customers that have been on waiting lists for 1 to 3 years and can’t get a Z06. GM gave you a.special deal to get this car and this is the appreciation they get! I hope they remember this transaction the next time you want a GM Speciality car,
