We learned that the 2024 Corvette E-Ray would be making a TV appearance on the NBC Today Show on Tuesday morning and we were able to capture the segment with our cell phone. Not the greatest way to share the official debut of America’s Favorite Sports Car, but it works for us!

The Torch Red Corvette E-Ray was shown on the ice skating rink that is in front of Rockefeller Center and the car was having a little trouble with the donuts because the new front wheel traction provided from the eAWD system. Eventually the car makes it around a few times but space was also a consideration so the driver was being careful.

Update
Chevrolet has put out some new content supporting the launch of the 2024 Corvette E-Ray and it includes a Black E-Ray also driving on the Rink at Rockefeller Plaza. Chevy says:

Exactly 70 years ago, on Jan. 17, 1953, Corvette made its world debut at GM Motorama in New York City.

“In honor of Corvette’s momentous debut in New York City, we returned exactly 70 years later to expand the idea of what a Corvette can deliver with the electrified all-wheel drive Corvette E-Ray,” said Scott Bell, vice president of Global Chevrolet.

The 2024 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray will be on display at center ice at the Rockefeller Center for the duration of the day on Jan. 17.

  1. OK driving on ICE is cool. Want I want to are Lap times. I’ll bet a good bottle of scotch it will put down faster laps the Z06.

  2. Well, Montana Bob, the article itself says the E-Ray was having trouble maintaining traction doing donuts on ice. That just isn’t surprising to me at all. And I am a devout C7 owner who only wishes the best for the Corvette brand.

  3. Mark Alan Altman,

My apologies. I didn’t see that sentence in the article. I was looking for issues in the video.

    BTW, I also have a C7, a 2018 Z06/Z07, 3LZ coupe.

    Montana Bob

  4. Hey so what I will take the C7 Z06 any day.
This is where GM sucked up to Biden.
It will hurt them later wait and see,
The only good thing they did with this is no charger which the grid won’t support.
