First up, let me say how much we appreciate our ‘Corvette Wives’ for putting up with our hobby. We see you at the Corvette shows helping to detail the car, and we take note of your happy disposition as your husband drags you to yet another seminar on Michelin tires or Mobil 1 motor oil. We know that many times you’re simply taking one for the team, and that’s why we love you so much.
I bring that up as we have a ‘Corvette Wife’ who recently made it on the Steve Harvey show. We don’t know her name, but she’s been married to Joe for 31 years. Joe owned a ’72 Corvette prior to getting married, and today he refers to the car as his “first love.”
Joe’s wife talks about his Corvette and how much fun they had in it. “It was all black, it was drivable. Sunday rides in the country anywhere we wanted to go.” But over the years, the Corvette has taken a turn which she describes as “Mr.T on wheels,” and we are suddenly worried for Joe about the direction of this conversation. But leave it to Steve Harvey to bring levity to the situation as he says what we are thinking when a photo of Joe’s Corvette is shown on TV. If you’ve been to Corvettes at Carlisle, you might just recognize it:

She obviously prefers the anonymity of an all black car…
Maybe her “problem” is that, with that big-ass blower setup sticking way up out of the hood obscuring forward visibility, the car can no longer be safely driven on the street, and she misses riding in it (or driving it)!
Her old man turned it into a life size Hot Wheels car that she doesn’t like and that’s why she has a problem with it.
Joe needs another Corvette for doing things with the little woman like they use to do. She’s a peach, he needs to keep her happy.
