Avatar isn’t just a movie these days. Now it’s an unrelated body kit for C8 Corvette Stingrays that’s being offered by Larte Design, which has ties to Russia and Germany.

In a social media post, Larte says they retained the sporty character of the mid-engine Corvette but enhanced it with aerodynamic design elements made of 100 percent carbon fiber.

“Want to make your Chevrolet Corvette C8 visually more expensive than its powerful Z06 version, write to us,” Larte tweets.

The kit includes a new front hood with a vented design, along with a hood overlay, front fender grilles, a larger and more aggressive front splitter, heavier side skirts, a rear diffuser with two additional brake lights in the middle, new side mirror casings, other body additions, new mufflers, and new five-spoke forged wheels.

No details were offered about what’s inside the cockpit or under the new hood, so we’re assuming that the already rather nice stock parts remain in place. The sample shown by Larte includes a Natural interior, and we’re figuring it’s still powered by the factory 495-horsepower LT2 V8 engine.

We like the overall look, though for us, we’re not sure it’s worth the cost of the kit. No price has been released by Larte, though the company is already taking orders and you can write to them directly to find out more details for yourself.

Visit the company’s website for a look at a Torch Red example, which we believe shows off the enhanced bodywork to a much greater degree.

  1. My personal opinion is that the C8 Corvette’s body style is okay, but it leaves a fair bit of room for improvement, so I have been looking forward to seeing what the aftermarket comes up with. Unfortunately, although quite a few aftermarket body kits for the C8 have come out, none of the ones I have seen so far, including this one, seem to manage to make the C8 look any better. And in many cases they make it look worse, at least in my opinion. Have to keep waiting, I guess.

  2. They aren’t breaking any new ground with this body kit. I also don’t think the black 5 spoke wheels look good on the C8 either.

  3. I’m sure someone will like the little spear elements and louver look. What I think will work will be carbon fiber rear window trim, side scoop trim, and rear diffuser for the Z06. Then you don’t have the mix of CF and carbon flash.

  4. Placing aftermarket aero on an already very well-executed C8 is not something I would do to mine per se, but this kit is not bad at all. Good job!
