[VIDEO] First Drive and Launches for Emelia Hartford's 2023 Corvette Z06


Since we last saw Emeila Hartford, she had installed the twin turbo system from her C8 Corvette Stingray nicknamed Phoenix on her brand new 2023 Corvette Z06 and teased us with the first start-up and redline revs. Now the Queen of Speed is back with a new video and we get to see the first drive and launches as she tests the car on the streets.

Emelia opens the video with a delivery at the shop from FedEx that includes new wheels from Forgeline for the Z06. We previously saw her visit the Forgeline headquarters and test-fit several wheel designs before she said she was going with a white rim setup. Many viewers questioned that decision, but she says just wait until you see the Z06 when its fully customized with stripes and other accents that are the opposite of her White/Orange Stingray.

But we are here now to witness the first drive and launches for the twin-turbo Z06. A down-and-dirty install of a boost gauge shows the car making 3-lbs. of boost with the turbo system, and she gradually ramps up the RPM and speed during the day’s test with no issues presenting themselves.”If the data points to good, then the data points to SEND,” she says during the test and then the first launch is performed. After sunset when the roads have cleared out, they do some more test runs.

From the driver’s seat perspective, she offers this revelation:

It’s crazy. It almost muffles the pitch of this high revving motor. Do you notice that? Don’t get me wrong, the turbos sound incredible and I do notice a difference driving with it. Roast me for saying this, but I kind of prefer this car NA. It’s like the GM engineers know what they’re doing. I think I like this car without the turbos more.”

The video ends with the new Z06 being loaded on a flatbed, and it’s off to get its wrap and the new Forgeline wheels installed.

  1. Made it to almost 1 minute of her video, I don’t know why I tried. And how the rear of her car looks now? Not sure what I can post, let’s just say she ruined it.

  5. you could grate cheese with that voice; i watched for 20 seconds and couldn’t take the assault on my ears. I’ll stick with my 2019 ZR1.
