A picture of an Accelerate Yellow C8 Corvette Stingray was recently posted to r/Autos on Reddit and it’s making the rounds of social media as much of the country has temperatures plunging ahead of the Christmas weekend.

The Stingray is wearing a Denny Menholt Chevrolet Dealer Plate on the front and a Reddit commenter believes the car to be in “Billings on top of the Rims.” Due to other lack of features, others are asking if this was Alaska or Antarctica. Other than the frozen Stingray, I see nothing but snow and blue skies.

We’re not sure what the owner was thinking, considering that these storms were well-forecasted ahead of them hitting the area, but you know Corvette owners like to be different. Perhaps the owner was counting on the rear-weight bias with 60% of the car’s weight over the rear wheels to power him through the drifting snow. All I can think about is that “Hey, you can’t park there” meme.

We’ve been seeing a trend lately in sports cars with giving them more clearance and bigger tires so they can go off-road, but this Stingray isn’t going anywhere until the big melt can free it from its winter prison.

One Reddit commenter is looking at this a bit differently. Alpha702 asks, “Homie, you really looked at that picture and thought “what a beast. Bet the C6s didn’t even make it out of the driveway.

I’m shivering just thinking about it!

  1. The first think I thought was .
What was this person thinking .
A real Corvette person wouldn’t be out there .
    No respect for the car.

  2. After seeing the dealer tag on the front, my first thought was that he had just taken delivery and was trying to get home.

  3. I cant believe anybody would consider driving a new vette in that kind of weather. It sure aint four wheel drive these cars are not built to drive in bad winter weather. Thats my opinion way to expense to even consider such a thing…

  4. I can’t believe that Corvette owner’s stupidity. Where I live we don’t get a lot of snow, but I got caught twice having to drive my Corvette home from work in light snow on ultra performance summer tires. It scared the shit out of me trying to drive in it and keep my Corvette from getting any kind of damage. Both times I got lucky and made it home with no damage to my car.

  5. Let me check my garage to see if my C8 is still there 😨😱 I’ve never driven my Corvette’s in snow, I keep it parked til the snow is gone for good, no salt left on the roads. That’s really Sad😞
