Corvettes for Sale: 1993 40th Anniversary Convertible on Craigslist

It’s hard to believe it’s already been 30 years since the 40th Anniversary models of the Corvette came out in 1993.

But here we are in 2022, now celebrating the 70th anniversary of Chevy’s sports car!

To mark the occasion 30 years ago, Chevy offered a 40th Anniversary Package for an extra $1,455 that included Ruby Red metallic paint, Ruby Red leather sport seats, power driver seat, special wheel center trim, and emblems.

Some 6,749 such anniversary cars left the Bowling Green factory that year, including this very nice convertible that currently is being offered on Craigslist in Abington, Massachusetts, south of Boston, for just $25,900.

It also has the distinction of having a six-speed manual transmission, one of 5,330 Corvettes so equipped out of the 21,590 built. Furthermore, only 5,692 convertibles in all were produced, and coupled with its anniversary package, that makes this car relatively rare.

Having been driven just 28,000 miles since new, this car appears to be in excellent condition inside and out based on the listing photos, with the only apparent glaring flaw being a power antenna that doesn’t go all the way down.

All base ‘93s came with the standard LT1 engine that produced 300 horsepower, only 105 less than the much more costly ZR-1. Three upgrades made the 5.7-liter V8 run quieter – a new heat shield design, a new thermoset polyester valve covers, and a modified camshaft exhaust lobe profile.

The seller says this one “runs flawlessly” and all fluids were recently changed and the vehicle tuned and inspected by an authorized shop, making it “a pleasure to drive.”

By the way, the ’93 Corvette was the first GM vehicle with a passive keyless entry system that automatically unlocked the doors, turned on the interior light, and disarmed the alarm system upon approaching the vehicle with the key fob. Conversely, leaving the vehicle would lock the doors and reset the alarm system.
