Kudos to Van Bortel Chevrolet for Selling this Canceled C8 Order at MSRP

We know there are more than a few Chevrolet dealers who would absolutely take delight in being able to sell a canceled C8 Corvette order for thousands over its original MSRP. So when we get an example of a dealer doing the right thing, we thought we would put a bit of a spotlight on them and say thanks on behalf of Corvette enthusiasts.

Upstate New York’s Van Bortel Chevrolet was a previous advertiser here, and we’ve only known them to be a first-class operation. Today, we received an email (we are still on their mailing list) for a 2023 Corvette Stingray Convertible originally built for a customer who had to cancel his order. Instead of adding a $15K market adjustment to the price and throwing it up on Autotrader, Van Bortel is offering the car at MSRP with the only stipulation that you be a New York State resident. Update: The car has been sold to a previous Van Bortel customer!

We have no stake in advertising this Corvette, and I’m simply passing the info along to someone who hopefully will enjoy it instead of flipping it. Maybe they sell others at over MSRP, I have no idea. Just nice to see MSRP offered for a nicely optioned C8 HTC. Thanks again to Van Bortel Chevrolet for showing how to treat its customers.

  1. It says a lot about Chevrolet when we congratulate one of their dealers for not gouging the public.

  2. I visited a dealer in Daytona, Florida a couple of weeks ago and they had two, C8’s sitting on the lot with a “market adjustment” sticker on them adding $25,000 the price of each one

  3. Kitty Van Bortel also sponsors the Rochester Corvette Club. When I ordered my 2020 HTC I only paid MSRP when many dealers were charging much more. Thanks Chevrolet for putting the spot light on such a good Chevrolet Dealer.

  4. Van Bortel Corvette is where I’ve bought my first two Vettes and will probably buy a third. Just ask anyone who’s bought or serviced a Corvette there, and you’ll hear a boatload of positive comments about the respect Van Bortel’s has for its customers, and how refreshing that is.

  5. Maybe the market is changing due to the economy. Interest rates increasing, layoffs, and Bitcoin is shit. My dealer keeps pounding me with emails and letters offering a 2 LT C8 at MSRP.

  6. Hello,

I had the same experience with Stingray Chevrolet in Plant City, Florida.

They had a cancelled 2023 C8 Red Mist with all the bells/whistles I was
looking for. It was in the showroom awaiting pick-up. The customer who
ordered it was forced to cancel delivery; my long time salesman called me
and said it was available at MSRP if I wanted it. The next day I drove it
    home.

  7. I bought my C8 from VanBortel last year. Easiest transaction I’ve ever had. From trading my C7 to taking delivery of the new car, it was all great. I’ll be doing the hour and a half drive back there when I’m ready for my next one.
