[ACCIDENT] Speeding and Wet Roads Blamed in C7 Corvette Z06 Crash

Speeding on a wet road is getting the early blame for a Corvette crash that injured two people Monday night in New York.

State police say 27-year-old Christopher Long of Fort Drum, New York crashed a 2016 Corvette Z06 into a tree in the Town of Pamelia at 6:45 p.m. after losing control on a curve and leaving the road.

Long is listed in critical condition today after being airlifted to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse.

The North Pole Fire Department extricated Long and a passenger, 18-year-old Donald Steele of Watertown, New York, from the badly damaged Corvette. Steele is listed in stable condition at the same hospital.

The crash happened on Plaza Drive behind Seaway Plaza just outside of Watertown.
