It will be one year ago this Wednesday that the 2023 Corvette Z06 was first revealed, and since then, Chevrolet has built many engineering and captured test vehicles as the automaker works to finally get America’s Newest Supercar into the hands of its customers. Up until today, the testing of these cars on public streets has been mostly a private affair, with no serious incidents or accidents reported or shared on social media.

That changed on Sunday following a post to Instagram from user zr1_m7, who shared a picture of a wrecked Z06 in Bloomfield, Michigan.

The picture shows a Black Corvette Z06 with bright aluminum spider-design wheels sitting in an intersection with the front of a Bloomfield, Michigan fire truck visible. It looks like there may be damage to the driver’s side of the car, with the rear wheel looking like it’s askew.

The quality assurance hold on the 31 customer-built Corvette Z06s is still in place, so the chance of this car being driven by a customer is totally moot. This car is most likely part of the Z06 CTF fleet operating in the Motor City and was being driven either by a GM engineer or another who does third-party testing for General Motors.

If anyone has additional information on this incident, please let us know!
