C5 Corvettes are old enough now that owners can afford to have some unorthodox fun with them.
Take this out-of-the-ordinary black-on-black 1999 Corvette coupe that recently sold on Facebook Marketplace out of the Fithian, Illinois area after an asking price of just $8,500.
What makes the car so unusual is that the owner installed a four-inch lift and threw on some aggressive-looking 33-inch Nitto Ridge Grapplers, not to mention bolted-on fender flares, front and rear.
Despite its 154,000 miles, the car looks decent inside and out. We especially love the three-quarter view from the rear that shows the aggressive tread pattern of the big tires to full effect.
The seller didn’t share a lot of details about this rough-and-tumble Corvette in his ad, but we do see the stock 5.7-liter engine that originally produced 345 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque has been upgraded with an aftermarket air intake. The six-speed manual transmission should add to the muddin’ fun, too.
For the money, we’re sure the new owner is having loads of fun with his – or her – new ride. Maybe they could even send us a few photos of the action.
