This Stingray – said to have had only two owners over the past 53 years – is being offered on Facebook Marketplace out of the Galion, Ohio area for a reasonable, below-market price of $20,000.
The listing doesn’t offer many details about the car, so we’re left to let our minds wander. We’d love to hear the story, for example, of how the gold and green paint job came into existence. We’d also like to learn more about that fuzzy gold velour interior, and with such limited ownership, it shouldn’t be hard to confirm whether the listed odometer reading of 61,000 miles is accurate.
Based on the photos, the car appears to be in excellent condition inside and out. However, a new owner would want to do some extensive cosmetic work under the hood, where the engine bay is a jarring mess visually after seeing the quality exterior and interior.
The ’69 model year marked the debut of the 350 engine for Corvettes, and this one still has its numbers-matching powerplant that could create either 300 or 350 horsepower, depending on whether it’s the optional L46 that cost just $131.65 extra back in the day, a choice made by 12,846 customers. Regardless, it’s hooked to a four-speed manual transmission.
The second year of the C3 generation, the ’69 was a big hit with enthusiasts, who gobbled up a record 38,762 Stingrays in coupe and convertible fashion.

Personally, I think it is cool to see that some of the crazy custom Corvettes that seemed to be everywhere back in the ’70s still exist in all their psychedelic glory, and have not been restored back to original. Like them or not, these custom cars are a big part of Corvette history.
