Check out this super easy mod which brings to life the ‘TEAM CORVETTE’ that is etched into the windshields on the C8 Corvette.
It was about halfway through the 2020 model year when the C8 Corvette Stingray’s windshield started coming with a “Zora head” on the passenger corner while ‘TEAM CORVETTE’ was etched on the lower driver’s side area. However, unless you get right up on the windshield, it can be hard to spot. The new modification gives it some color, and those doing it either match their body color or they are using another accent color like the same color as your brake calipers or seatbelts.
To do the mod, you need a piece of colored paper, card stock, or vinyl roughly 2-inches wide by 7-inches long. A small space between the windshield and the dash allows you to slip your preferred color into place.
Once you insert it into that area, you may need another piece of paper or something else flat to fully push it down until your ‘TEAM CORVETTE’ is showing the color.
Scott TO on Facebook offered this quick video showing how to do it. He used “Oracle 651 vinyl” as his source material and it matches pretty well against his Accelerate Yellow paint. The hardest part is actually finding the matching color you want, and then it just takes about 30 seconds to move it into place:

Sidney Hopkins on FB chimed it with his photo, but his was done differently as he had to order a replacement windshield, so he painted his ‘TEAM CORVETTE’ from behind for even better results:

Lol, that’s one of the coolest things I’ve seen in a while.
Thanks Kevin. Our little group has talked about this for almost a year. I just remembered recently to actually do it.
I hope the paper or whatever medium they are using is colorfast because the sun will eventually fade out the chosen color.
BTW… You can get the vinyl anywhere that sells the Oracal 651. Michael’s, Amazon, ETC… It is made for this type of application and resists fading. My wife uses it all the time to make decals for vehicles.
