After more than two years of trash talking back and forth, Mike Hyssong of Street Speed 717 YouTube Channel and his black 1,000-horsepower C7 ZR1 finally got their chance to go up against fellow YouTuber Mod2Fame and his 1,300-horsepower Hellcat.

“I’ve been trying to race him now for like two years,” Hyssong says. “He’s always had some type of problem, or I wasn’t going to an event that he was at. So I have really been trying to make this happen for a very long time, and it finally did.”

It’s all just good clean fun, the guys are quick to point out, but that doesn’t mean the competitive juices weren’t overflowing for their long-awaited matchup that finally materialized at Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, Pennsylvania earlier this month.

First, though, before things get serious, Mike takes his ZR1 out for a trial run to see how the car is performing and reaches 170 mph, not quite as high as his 174 best but still much better than the 150s he had run before making a series of tweaks.

With the warmups out of the way, then it’s on the track together – and time to put up or shut up.

Despite giving up 300 horsepower, the Corvette is able to take the first run, a rolling drag race, taking the lead from 74 mph and winning with a high speed of 170 mph to 168 mph for the Hellcat. The second run proved again to be a win for the ZR1, as it hit 168 mph to 158 for the Hellcat.

Even with the intense competition and their “war of words,” the two guys are smiling and friendly after the races, with Hyssong praising Mod2Fame’s Hellcat as the fastest he’s ever run against.

Not surprisingly, the two competitors are already talking about a possible rematch later this year, so we’ll keep you posted.

  1. Use to follow him on YouTube but he started doing really stupid things like jumping a new 100k Dodge TRX across a creek and destroying it. Bought a few merchandise items from him. But when he started going political about Ukraine I unsubscribed. Guy is spoiled and sometimes extremely stupid. I do follow his Neighbor Rich’s YouTube channel. Rich does a great job of discussing corvettes
