The mid-engine Corvette is a distinctive way to travel, in its own right.

The soon-to-be-here Z06 will definitely take things up a notch in the power and looks departments with its flat-plane crank engine and widebody. Good luck finding one, though, if you didn’t have the foresight to get on a waiting list or don’t mind paying a premium on the open market.

But there are other options that don’t require patience if you want to have the coolest C8 Corvette in the neighborhood, namely this heavily customized 2020 Stingray available now through a San Diego, California dealer.

Of course, all that mojo isn’t cheap as the Hive Auto Group has tagged this C8 with a hefty price tag of $158,795.

Considering what you’re getting, though, that really might not be a terrible price to pay on the open market in this crazy market, although some people might not be too crazy about the 20,000 miles on the odometer. Of course, why go to all this trouble if you’re not going to enjoy the car, right?

The car started out as a Black over Natural 3LT coupe with the Z51 Performance Package and Magnetic Ride, so it would likely have listed in the 90s straight from Bowling Green.

Then a boatload of customization has followed, including a Pandem widebody kit installed by LTMW / SOS Customz with full titanium hardware and covered with a black and gold Premium Auto Styling Custom wrap that’s definitely a matter of personal taste. It’s protected by Golden State Auto Detail ceramic coating.

Other additions include APR Performance rear diffuser and door handles, front grille inserts, and Sigala Designs Carbon Roof.

They also installed Borla Exhaust Atak cat back mufflers with valves as well as Air Ride Equipment with 3P management custom air suspension and tank set up with hard lines. LD97 three-piece forged wheels (19×9.5 in front and 20×12 in back) complete the picture.

No mention is made of any engine upgrades so we’re left to assume the stock 495-horsepower LT2 engine is still residing behind the driver.

Are you satisfied with the factory C8 Stingray or does this rad customization get your blood boiling?

  1. Gawd that thing is ugly. That beautifully designed C-8 did not need that to happen to it.
