Bowling Green Fire Department Takes Delivery of a C8 Corvette from the Corvette Museum

It’s hard to imagine a more iconic color associated with firefighters than red and a more iconic American sports car than the Corvette.

Just ask the Bowling Green Fire Department, which is combining those two icons for a major fundraising raffle later this year.

Monday morning, firefighters from the BGFD picked up a shiny red 2022 Corvette Stingray at the National Corvette Museum that they will be raffling off there later this year at their 9th annual Fireman’s Ball.

First, though, the Corvette will be shown off in public at parades, firefighter recruitment, prevention events, and more.

The ultimate goal for the Corvette, however, is to raise funds to help those in need at a couple of upcoming special events: Shop with a Firefighter and distribution of Thanksgiving baskets.

“This is the first time we’ve done this and it’s not a one-shot deal for us, we’ll be here every year,” Fire Chief Justin Brooks said, “and what’s special about this Corvette is it’s personalized…the last 3 on the VIN number is 911.”

The 2022 Corvette Stingray was secured and ordered for the Bowling Green Fire Department by Mike Furman of Criswell Chevrolet. Also assisting the Bowling Green Fire Department in this effort are the Mingus Family, Team Construction, and the R8C delivery team at the NCM.

The date for the Fireman’s Ball is November 19th at the National Corvette Museum, sponsored by SERVPRO of Warren County.
