Our friends at Mobil 1 The Grid are offering up a great look back at the Super Sebring weekend that featured two podium finishes for Corvette Racing and the C8.Rs.

By now most C8.R racing fans should be aware of Corvette Racing’s dual program this season that has the No. 3 C8.R racing solo in North America as part of the IMSA WeatherTech series while the No. 64 Corvette C8.R will be tackling the GTLM field in the FIA World Endurance Championship. The WEC has the 24 Hours of Le Mans as part of its schedule and in recent years the FIA has required the racing team to compete in one to two WEC races to earn an invitation to the French Classic.

First up on the racing calendar for the WEC race was the 1,000 Miles of Sebring and Corvette Racing made the most of their experience at Sebring to finish second in the GTLM class. The C8.R ran well against the competition which included Porsche and Ferrari. Unfortunately, the race was called early due to stormy weather and lightning so we’ll never know if Milner and Tandy had a shot at the class win. A P2 finish is very strong for the first result and one that the team is more than happy to have earned.

As for the IMSA 12 Hour race on Saturday, it would be up to Jordan Taylor, Antonio Garcia, and Nicky Catsburg to shine for the first single-car outing at the historic track and they did not disappoint as the team led 247 laps to win Corvette Racing’s first 12 Hour race since 2017 and their first race as part of the new GTD-Pro class. It was also the 12th time that Corvette Racing has won the 12 Hours of Sebring.

Thanks to our friends at Mobil 1 the Grid for the following recap!

From Mobil 1 The Grid via YouTube:

It’s all change for Corvette Racing in 2022 as the reigning IMSA GTLM Champions split their efforts across both the new GTD Pro class and a full-season entry in the World Endurance Championship. While Nick Tandy and Tommy Milner were taking on the WEC 1000-mile race, their teammates Jordan Taylor, Nick Catsburg and Antonio Garcia took on the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring – Round 2 of the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship.
