[VIDEO] Jordan Taylor Gives Update from Private Corvette C8.R Test at Sebring


If you have ever wondered what is happening behind the scenes during a Corvette Racing practice weekend, you’ll want to watch this new video from C8.R driver Jordan Taylor.

Corvette Racing was in Sebring on Thursday and Friday last week for a two-day private testing session where the team would be primarily focusing on the new GTD-spec Michelin tires. The tires in GTD are the same for all competitors and it’s one of the major changes the C8.Rs are dealing with since moving to the new class as previously the Michelin’s were custom made for the C8.R. Taylor says Sebring is a good track for tire testing as it offers a little bit of everything that the team will see during the year.

It’s a good test so far…we’re halfway through day one and we’ve already made some progress on the car. It’s definitely a different driving style to the GTLM car around here obviously with the new tire. There’s less overall grip, there’s less lateral grip as the main thing, so the driving style has been adjusted, which has been a fun challenge to kind of understand how to extract the lap time out of this car now.”

WHY DIDN’T SOMEONE TELL ME TO BECOME A RACE CAR DRIVER AND GET A DEGREE IN MECHANICAL ENGINEERING, GO TO DETROIT AND WORK FOR CHEVROLET SO I COULD RACE THIS CORVETTE, JUST LIKE THESE TEAMS GET TO DO FOR THE NEXT YEAR.
