[PIC] C8 Corvette E-Ray Rendering by Peter Chilelli


Our friend Peter from Fast Pixels is back with a new rendering of the C8 Corvette E-Ray.

Recently, there were some spy photos going around the purported to be an uncamouflaged Corvette E-Ray driving in Michigan, but we can tell you that we know 100% that car was an older Z06 mule.

It’s also our contention that Chevy isn’t going to show you can uncamouflaged “future product” prior to its reveal. As a famous Corvette owner often says, C’mon man!

Peter went to work and imagined how Chevy’s Corvette designers might utilize the Z06’s widebody to create a distinct look for the E-Ray. To pull it off as Chevy did with the C7 Grand Sport, it requires the model to have some distinct changes on basically all four sides of the car. With two sides visible here, Peter removed the backward portion of the wishbone and added two vents to the corners of the frunk. Obviously, the car requires its own set of stylish wheels and here Peter went with a seven-spoke design instead of the normal Chevy five-spokes.

Peter also added an E-Ray badge under the side intakes where the Z06 badge would be.

  1. I hope that Chevy doesn’t punt and make the E-Ray look like a C8 Z06 with different trim, badges, and wheels.

    Since the E-Ray will be a MAJOR advancement, on par with the mid-engine layout, I’d be perfectly okay if the E-Ray is the C9 Corvette. Why not??? The C6 and C7 Corvettes are advanced versions of the C5.

    Dear Chevy, Make the E-Ray your new C8 Corvette! If you want to talk about this, call me!

  4. Somehow the body needs to be different maybe full-length light running horizontal across the back .E Ray color great way to bring GREEN back .
