Corvettes for Sale: One-Owner 1976 Corvette with 46K Original Miles

Here’s something you don’t see very often – a one-owner 1976 Corvette Stingray.

This car – which features a 350 engine and automatic transmission and is one of 46,558 coupes made that year – is being offered on Craigslist out of the Lake Charles, Louisiana area for $12,500.

The seller says his Corvette was “running perfect before being put up” in a garage “about 25 years ago” and was started up regularly until about eight years ago. He claims the car has only surface rust on the frame and “will clean up nicely.” The red paint is so nasty it’s hard to tell if it will regain a shine, though the black interior does show promise that a good cleaning might bring it back to life.

The owner, for his part, notes that there are cheaper Corvettes out there “and this may or may not be the one for you.”

“This is what I think my car is worth,” he says.

If the asking price is achieved, that would certainly be an ample reward for the original owner’s patience hanging onto his car over the years, since the base price in ’76 was just $7,604.85 and even fully loaded would have barely cracked the $10,000 level.
