Crashed 2021 Corvette at Copart Should be Offered at 'Half-Off' Price

Pity the poor person who probably waited for months and months to take delivery, only to crash this 2021 Corvette coupe into objects unknown after enjoying just 5,166 miles behind the wheel.

The remains of this Red Mist 2LT Stingray are currently listed on Copart, where it is labeled as Lot #59250281 out of Fort Worth, Texas in an “Upcoming Lot.” What that means, according to Copart, is that it hasn’t been assigned to an auction yet and is not eligible for bidding yet but can be added to Members’ Watchlists so Members can keep track of when sale dates have been assigned and vehicles are ready for bidding.

As one glance at the photos will quickly show you, the car will require some extensive work to the front end on the passenger’s side, which is basically missing.

It’s particularly fortunate for the sellers that Chevy had the foresight to move the LT2 engine to the middle of the car, as the 495-horsepower powerplant appears to have escaped the brunt of the accident. Indeed, Copart says the car still cranked up when they took delivery.

More good news is that the Adrenaline Red interior is pretty much unscathed, other than the deployed airbag on the steering wheel. Apparently, there was no one riding in the passenger seat because that airbag is still behind the dash panel.

The estimated retail value, according to the Copart website, is $115,125, but obviously, that was before the accident destroyed half of the front end. It’ll be interesting to see what this one winds up fetching, won’t it?

How much would you be willing to pay for a Stingray that, even once repaired back to normal, will never be worth as much as one that has never been involved in an accident?

  1. Neither will I. I didn’t like the car before it was wrecked. Very happy with my C6 Z06 with FOUR HUNDRED AND TWENTY-SEVEN cubic inches. Zoom Zoom
