This Top Flight winner from a decade ago is seeking a new home on Bring a Trailer.
Sold new at a Pennsylvania dealership, this “>1962 Corvette was repainted in its original Honduras Maroon by a previous owner in 1981. The current owner repainted the hood three years ago and says the rest of the finish includes touch-ups and signs of age.
In April 2011, the car was an NCRS Top Flight award winner before being sold to the current owner in 2015.
Under the hood is a 327 Turbo-Fire V8, which we would assume to be the original motor, and it’s connected to a two-speed Powerglide automatic transmission. Atop the engine is an Edelbrock carburetor with an electric choke, but a removed Carter WCFB carb is also being included in the deal.
The undercarriage is in excellent condition, with no rust, based on the extensive photos included with the listing.
Meanwhile, the all-black features bucket seats, said to have been reupholstered before the 2011 NCRS judging, but there are some signs of wear and tear on the center console, with a large scuff in the black paint to the right of the clock.

Documentation includes the 1962 purchase invoice (showing a price of $4,716, with a discount of a little over $700) and an owner’s manual and other manufacturer’s literature. Also included are several keys and a car cover.
With one day left in the auction, the high bid has climbed to $37,500. The hammer on this 1962 Corvette will fall on Friday, October 29 at 3:45 pm ET.
