Despite the supply chain and chip issues hitting auto manufacturers hard in 2021, production and sales of the Chevrolet Corvette are red hot and show no signs of slowing down as we look forward to 2022.
The 3rd Quarter 2021 production totals for the Corvette were among the highest sales numbers in recent history with Chevrolet delivering 10,166 new Corvettes during the time period, a 60% increase when compared to the 6,355 units sold in the third quarter of 2020. For the year to date, sales have increased 96% with 24,748 Corvettes sold during the calendar year.
With these impressive sales numbers, the Corvette once again dominates the Premium Sports Cars segment with America’s Favorite Sports Car outselling all of the competition combined:

While the Premium Sports Car Segment grew 16% for the quarter, the share of Corvette customers increased by 21% to 76%! The closest rival to the Corvette – Porsche’s 911 – sold more in Q3 2021 than they did in Q3 2020, but their share of customers actually slipped by 2%. The only other car to show sales increases year over year was the Acura NSX which was up 107% for the quarter.
