It’s no surprise that Indycar stars Will Power and Josef Newgarden like Chevys.

After all, the Penske Racing teammates compete in Chevrolets. Still, as professionals, their driving impressions of the new mid-engine Corvette carry a lot of weight.

In this YouTube video, the two teammates laugh it up quite a bit as Power takes Newgarden for a quick spin around the Indianapolis Speedway in a Torch Red Stingray coupe.

Newgarden, by the way, wheels around in his own Arctic White 2020 Z51 3LT coupe that he picked up last year after touring the assembly plant in Bowling Green, so he’s already had plenty of time to grow very familiar with the immense capabilities of Chevy’s new supercar.

“I’m gonna give you some tips today, Will, on how to properly overtake a teammate,” Newgarden quips before Power takes off on the trip around the Indy track.

“I need that,” Power says, laughing. “Let’s go.”

After a few twists and turns, they both come away impressed with the stickiness of the new Corvette, with Newgarden pointing out “this thing has a ton of grip – holy crap!”

“Man, I love this car,” Power concludes, calling it “a nice handling car.”

That’s a nice vindication for the thousands of other non-professional drivers who have chosen the new C8 Corvette, isn’t it?
