[VIDEO] Check Out These New Features On The 2021 Corvette

Members of the Corvette Team have previously shown off the new options for the 2021 Corvette as far back as July, but now that the 2021s are shipping, we have the opportunity to explore the model changes for ourselves thanks to this “Coffee with Conti” video from Chevrolet sales rep Rick Conti.

The 2021 Corvette marks the second year of the C8 Corvette Stingray, and there are some great new features and content added for the new model year. Among the major changes are the two new exterior colors, Red Mist and Silver Flare, a new 3LT two-tone interior called “Sky Cool Gray/Strike Yellow”, and buyers can also select the Magnetic Ride Control on Corvettes without the Z51 performance package.

The Corvette Team also made changes to the car’s settings which are accessed through the center touch screen and that’s where Rick’s video comes in. Rick takes a seat in the 2021 model and shows off even more features which we are just finding out about.

One of the new items that Rick demonstrates is the “Buckle to Drive” safety feature that prevents the driver from shifting the vehicle out of Park if the driver’s seat belt is not buckled for up to 20 seconds. Rick shows where that feature is located in the settings page and how to turn it off.

We also get a great look at the new My-Mode and Z-Mode configurators that now offers a graphical representation of the various Drive Mode settings. Conti shows off some of the differences in the screens from the 2020 Corvette and the 2021 model, as well as the new functions. We really like how each mode has its own color bar and a line bar that visually shows where all the settings are set for that particular selection.

Another way to get into the settings to make changes comes when you hit the Z-Mod button twice which brings up the Performance Traction Management (PTM) menu. You can select from the various PTM settings by turning the mode-selector and you can turn off or on the Electronic Stability Control. With all the customizations available, Conti reminds us that the great source for what these selections offer is the Corvette Owner’s Manual so make sure you read up before changing everything willy-nilly.

Here’s how some of those new Visualiser screens appear:

Another new feature for the 2021 Corvettes is wireless connectivity with your cell phone which can launch either Apple Car Play or Android Auto once connected. Rick connects his iPhone to the car and demonstrates sending a message with the car.

One of the “unpublished features” Rick mentions include changes to the controls with the Bose Stereo. A new “browse stations by genre” is now available as is a direct tuning feature that was added to the FM screen while it was taken away from the SiriusXM screen. However, the satellite radio selection now offers new graphics for the channel line-up and selection. A “related” button on the SiriusXM screen is now there to help you to find related stations.

As a fun fact, Conti tells us there are over 3,000 crossed-flag logos that appear on the cell phone holder!

Thanks again to Rick for providing this walk-through of new features and screens on the 2021 Corvette. Make sure you “like and subscribe” his videos so you’ll be kept up to date on all the latest C8 features and content.

  1. Comparing the C7 door mirrors shape with the C8 mirrors,
it seems the C8 mirror installation is upside down. The ‘wide’
part of the mirror should be at the bottom for better rearward
vision. The triangular shape should be rectangular. (to hell with
    styling– function rules)
    Anyone else share that opinion?
