Corvettes on eBay: Two-Owner 1965 Corvette with a 327/365 V8

If you’re looking for a sharp ’65 Corvette that you can enjoy without being paranoid all the time, this two-owner survivor might be the ticket for you.

Fifty-five years later, this convertible Sting Ray still turns heads, with originality overall being the key way to describe this classic C2.

It’s currently up for sale on eBay, where 31 bids have pushed the highest offer to $50,100. Bidders have until Thursday afternoon to try to meet the reserve.

The original Nassau Blue paint isn’t perfect, but for the most part it’s the same coat that left the St. Louis factory long ago. The matching blue interior shows some signs of minor wear, but it definitely could be enjoyed as a survivor without embarrassing the new owner. Mechanically, the car features a matching numbers 327/365 horsepower engine, 4-speed Muncie manual transmission, and rear end.

This Sting Ray appears to have been well taken care of throughout its life, with the original paint remaining “very presentable” for its age, according to the listing. All bonding strips are in place, and the paint consistency is the same around the entire car. The only repair was apparently done on the driver’s side front lower turn signal area earlier in the car’s life. “It’s difficult to see, however,” we’re told, as the repair was nicely spotted in and blended in about halfway up the outside of the front fender.

This Sting Ray comes with a matching hardtop as well as a white ragtop, and we like the different looks that each top gives to the car.

The factory leather seats show some minor wear and cracking but overall remain “very presentable.” We believe replacing the original carpet, which is faded, dirty and worn in spots, would really make this interior pop. The teakwood steering wheel is another nice touch.

The engine compartment shows signs of age, but overall looks “very presentable,” to continue that way of describing the car. In many cases, the original parts have been replaced and retained for future caretakers.

Overall, the seller notes that the car “runs and drives great,” and everything works, including the backup lights, turn signals, dash, interior, and headlights – everything that is, except the clock, of course.

“This is a very nice example of an unrestored Corvette – only things changed were to keep the car up and running all these years,” the seller concludes.

Would you keep it as a survivor and enjoy it, or go all out and restore it into a trailer queen?

  1. Nice car, would look great next to my C3 which is next to my C6, but I’m all out of money. Read the Ebay ad and the seller sounds very upfront about a few minor issues with the car. If I wasn’t so poor, I’d buy it, Rebuild the motor with 9:1 pistons and a milder (but still solid) cam, give it some serious TLC, a new set of tires, and DRIVE IT. Zoom Zoom
