[VIDEO] Chevrolet Teases New Stripe Colors for the 2021 Corvette

Back at the end of March, we learned through a leak about some of the upcoming changes for the Chevrolet Corvette that are in store for the 2021 model year. In addition to two new exterior colors, Red Mist Tintcoat and Silver Flare, the leak detailed several new full-length body stripes and stinger graphics for the mid-engine Corvette’s sophomore year.

As Chevrolet prepares to put out additional 2021 model year information ahead of the July 30th start to orders, they have released a new teaser on their Facebook channels featuring a quick preview:

The preview is so quick, GM suggests you “Don’t Blink” at the beginning as you might miss it. Lucky for you that we are able to slow it all down to pull the relevent graphics from the video.

Currently, the 2020 model year features three fill length dual racing stripe packages in Carbon Flash Metallic, Midnight Gray and Sterling Silver. Joining those packages in 2021 are new stripe colors in Orange, Red, Yellow and Blue:

As far as 2021 model year changes go, this teaser only shows the four new colors of the dual racing stripes. Chevrolet is also bringing back the Stinger Stripe, but we have yet to see how it will be applied. The Stinger was the center hood location on the previous generation’s front-engine Corvettes, and we assume this graphic will somehow be applied to the front of the car only.

In addition to the exterior colors and stripes, Chevrolet will offer two new 3LT seat combinations called “Strike Yellow/Sky Cool Gray” and “Leather Jet Black with Sky Cool Gray”, as well as a special edition package called the “Stingray R”.

As we get closer to the 2021 order books opening on July 30th, we expect to see another teaser or two and then the official 2021 Order Guide will be made public. Finally, 2021 model pricing will be released that details pricing for the new model year’s options and packages.

  1. Notice that the cars in the 2021 stripe teaser have the crossed flags on the trunk lid instead of the stingray.

  2. I would like to see just the stinger hood without the stripe package Like 67 yellow rag top with a black stinger that I had owned. I am ordering a yellow 2021 coverable and would like just a black stinger.

  3. All of these color choices are interesting, however, let’s not turn the Corvette into a clown car at the circus.

  4. GM should be more concerned about THE 2020 MODEL. AS OF JULY 6TH, only 4500 cars have been built out of 20,000 on the books. DOES NOT look like everyone at 3000 status like myself will get a 2020. They haven’t gotten to GROUP 5 ALLOCATIONS, MARCH 2020 yet which alone accounts for 10,000 cars……Richard Conti’s website shows some people getting their 2020 in DECEMBER…..the 2022 ZO6 will be exciting if it comes to fruition……
