It seems that Chevrolet is having trouble hanging on to its Corvette wheels!

Last month we caught pictures of a Black 2020 Corvette Stingray that had its wheels stolen in Detroit, and frankly, there was nothing sadder than seeing the mid-engine Corvette balanced on a couple of landscaping stones. Then over the weekend, we caught wind of a set of potential carbon fiber C8 Corvette wheels for the Z06 that included GM labels. Those wheels sold pretty quickly and we are debating whether the buyer might have been GM as they attempt to tamp down on the latest leak.

Now we’ve been made aware of another set of C8 Corvette wheels being offered online out of Michigan.

Best Tires, LLC of Warren, MI has four (4x) of the Open Spoke aluminum wheels in Black and they include Michelin tires. The wheels are advertised as “Open Box (never used)” and if you are thinking these are the missing wheels from the Black 2020 Corvette Stingray in Detroit last month, the listing says they were posted four months ago.

Makes you wonder how they got a set of never-used C8 Corvette wheels in late 2019…

The wheels are priced at $2,299 and a local pickup option is offered.

  1. The tire treads look a tad dirty for these to be “Open Box (never used)”, although I suppose it could just be from rolling them across a dirty floor.

  2. They have to be stolen, Chevrolet isn’t selling them over the counter at dealerships. The police need to look into this.

  3. SOME ONE AT G.M. HAS A LOT OF CAHONES AND NOT MUCH SENSE. I CANNOT IMAGINE THE GENERAL GIVING THESE UP THRU NORMAL CHANNELS. AND THEY ARE MUCH TO BIG TO FIT INTO A LUNCH BOX.

  4. Wonder if they would fit my 1990 ZR-1? They are probably to hot to touch, GM will be interested in finding out how the seller came into possession of these bad boys.

  5. Someone is going to jail. All tires have serial #s on them and I’m sure that GM have the logged for testing purposes because the tires are getting tested just like the car is.
