CorvetteBlogger contributor Jeremy Welborn was in Bowling Green today and he was over at the Corvette Assembly Plant to check out the latest happenings over there with new construction in the news as well as a mystery Corvette that is now covered up out behind the plant. But the real surprise came when he came face to face with the unicorn color of the 2020 Corvettes – one that’s painted in Accelerate Yellow!

Jeremy was able to get behind the Accelerate Yellow Coupe as the driver was leaving the confines of the assembly plant’s property and followed the driver he headed was heading out to Northbound I-65.

It’s only the second sighting of the new Accelerate Yellow, and it’s interesting to see the car here under Bowling Green’s gray skies today which I think mutes some of the brighter yellow and brings out a bit more of the green in the color. When the NCM shared the first sighting of Accelerate Yellow, the bright sun gave the car a different look:

This is actually a different Stingray than the one the NCM captured last week. This has the body-color scoop trim and rear vents while the car is riding on the Black open-spoke wheels with the Yellow brake calibers. So the good news is that there is now more than just one Accelerate Yellow Corvettes out there.

We find it somewhat funny all the attention that this color has generated, mostly from not being shown. Yellow Corvettes are generally down at the bottom of production totals and usually register only about 3-5% of the colors. But Yellow Corvette fans are some of the most passionate about the color, and then there is the connection to the Corvette Racing.

Jeremy was also able to grab some photos of the new Accelerate Yellow 2020 Corvette Stingray and we’ve added them here. Let us know what you think about the new Accelerate Yellow in the comments below!

  1. The yellow looks good, it’s a “soft” yellow. I like the look without the black accents, try a polished wheel look, it might make the yellow “jump” a little more. Looks good!?

  2. I’ve always been a fan of yellow Corvettes. But I would prefer to see the black side and rear vents for contrast. I’d go with red calipers.

  3. I like the Corvette Racing Yellow on the C7’s more than this C8 yellow. Too much green in it…hope they go back to the C7 yellow.

  4. Not a fan of the body color vents. The black or carbon would break it up nicely. Still damn hot.

  5. I ordered the Accelerate Yellow with a carbon flash high wing spoiler, back and side vents, twin stripes, black wheels, red calipers and red engine cover. You need some black accents to break up the yellow. My Yellow C6 has a black top C-Pillar, and hood stripes and I get lots on looks and comments on it.
