[VIDEO] The Corvette Mechanic Paul Koerner Breaks Down the 2020 Corvette's LT2 V8 Oil System

During the National Corvette Museum’s 25th Anniversary Celebration, we caught GM World Class Certified Technician Paul Koerner (aka TheCorvetteMechanic) doing some intense studying of the 2020 Corvette Stingray’s cutaway LT2 Engine and DCT displays during some rare downtime.

Utilizing these new cutaway photos, Paul then shares some of the new things he has learned about the new LT2 engine’s dry sump oil system and how it will keep the Corvette’s V8 well-lubricated no matter what track or driving situation you throw at it.

Paul will be hosting another 2020 Corvette Seminar at Key Chevrolet in Middletown, CT and you are invited! The event will be held on Sunday, October 6th from 10-12 noon. But here’s the deal, you have to RSVP to [email protected] no later than September 27th to secure your spot. This seminar will be a sell-out so make your plans to attend Paul’s new 2020 Corvette discussion today.

  1. You don’t mention the oil is no longer driven at engine speed. Smaller rotors with fewer teeth driven at half speed mean they won’t cavitate and will work to much higher rpm!

Gen 2 Hemis have issues with drainback. The C8 solves that problem too. Colour me impressed!
