[PIC] California Highway Patrol Makes Example of Corvette Driver Ticketed for 110 MPH

The California High Patrol wants you to slow down out there and they are willing to mock you if you don’t!

Check out this tweet today after a CHP officer in the Dublin Area napped a black C6 Corvette driver for 110 mph today:

If the speed limit was 70, then a ticket for speeding 26+ mph over the limit in California will set you back nearly $500 or more depending on the location and various fees that are tacked on to the ticket.

I’m sure that C6 Corvette was nice and smooth at 110 mph but our advice is to slow it down and be safe out there!

  1. Less expensive and way safer to get your rocks off at a track day event…unless you are a wuss with a huge ego.

  2. Depending on the court jurisdiction, the judge may also suspend the driver’s driving privilege.

  3. I am guilty also. i just had to know one time how fast my stock C-5 would go. however i did wait (years) for the right situation & hwy. Ironicly the speed & hwy were the same #165! the hwy was newly paved & at least 20miles of perfectly strait road. In a sparsely populated agriculture area in northern, ca. it’s documented that the base C-5 will go 174mph however i backed-off at 165mph. I know i will be chastised for this & i also know i am NOT the only corvette owner who has tried this. I rolled the dice & was lucky enough to pull it off without incident! (yes it was a very smooth thrill & now i know)

  4. California should be required to build expressways for high performance cars where the minimum speed is 100MPH. Drivers with the requisite skills and capable cars will get special tags. The CHP would be required to monitor those on this expressway to be sure they have the special tags and are obeying the minimum speed of 100mph otherwise the ticket for going to slow should be at least $500.00 plus court cost plus points on your license. If you exceed 150mph you get 2 points removed from your license, if your exceed 200mph you get 4 pts removed from your license and a $100 gift card at the NCM or what ever high performance auto store you want.

Given the fact that it’s Kalifornia and taking into account the lunatics running that state into the ground,
you can bet that the “various fees” will probably at least double or triple the total fine. Gotta keep funding
    the socialist agenda out there!
