It was just 10 days ago that Shadow Gray entered production on 2019 Corvettes and now we have the first photos and comparison pics of the color with the outgoing Watkins Glen Gray. The pics come from our friend Mike Furman @ Criswell Chevrolet.
Mike tells us that this is a color that has to be seen in the sunlight. Under the gray are blue metallic tones that really shine once the light hits it. We inquired if the color reminded him of Cyber Gray Metallic which also had blue tones, but he says no, it’s definitely its own color. Mike also pointed out to us that the quality of the paint is exceptional and he says that he looked up and down the car and couldn’t spot any “orange peel” with the new color.
As the new 2019 Corvette was delivered, it was positioned in front of a Watkins Glen Gray Corvette and you can see some differences between the two shades. I think we’ll have to take Mike’s advice and wait until we see it in person before passing judgment.
Until then, enjoy these photos of the new Shadow Gray exterior.
