C6 Corvette Crashes into Six Vehicles in Miami

One of the drivers of the six vehicles allegedly struck by a gray C6 Corvette early Sunday morning in Miami, Fla., gave chase, but in the end, a light pole wound up “catching” the Corvette for the victim.

“I was behind him, I say he’s going 100 [mph], I’m going 100 behind him because I need a picture, I need the tag, the tag number,” Rene Desir, owner of one of the struck cars, told WSVN-TV, “because I need to call the police, because the lady got hurt in the back, and my car got hurt, and I say, you know, something wrong happened.”

Witnesses said the chain of collisions began when the Corvette hit a parked car near Northwest 22nd Street and First Court, then slammed into five more vehicles near Northwest 34th Street and North Miami Avenue.

A collision with the light pole finally managed to stop the destruction by the Corvette driver, who had to be extricated from the vehicle by firefighters. He was carried by paramedics to Jackson Memorial Hospital, where his non-life-threatening injuries were treated.

City of Miami Police and Fire Rescue crews answered the call, and police are continuing to investigate. No word yet on charges the Corvette driver will face.
