Here’s a up for sale on eBay, where 29 bids so far have failed to meet the unlisted reserve price but nevertheless have pushed the price to £12,100 or $16,062.81 in US dollars.
The ad is a little confusing, with the actual year of the car not listed, though with the heavy customization of the body, that’s not really an issue.
The seller does note that a Hollywood actress owned the car in 1974 and claims that there’s a builder’s original plate saying “Built Especially for …….. ……….” as he declines to give the actual name in the ad.
The car’s custom body – done in silver aluminum satin which shines “brilliantly blindingly” in the sunlight – includes a Le Mans headlight conversion, a big rear spoiler, and even a split window that pays homage to the classic ’63 Sting Ray coupe.
Under the hood is a massive 454 engine that’s been outfitted with a huge Hurricane turbo, water injected. This Corvette is also piped for nitrous, though it doesn’t have a bottle. “I don’t think it needs it, but it can achieve 800 horses plus if desired,” the seller notes. Indeed, emblems on the rear bumper and hood (or “bonnet” as they say in the UK) describe the car as “Corvette Super Muscle” capable of “200 MPH +” and “872 BHP.”
Undergoing a full body-off restoration a few years ago, the car today is not in perfect condition, the seller admits, with a “little blemish here and there.”
But overall, the seller describes this highly modified Corvette as a “great car to invest in and have fun” – driving nicely or you can unleash the beast, as he puts it.
