Now here’s something you don’t see every day. This C4-based autocross go kart chassis is currently up for grabs on eBay. The seller states that the car is street legal and ready to roll. While not a true C4 chassis, there are plenty Corvette bits to go around just to keep things interesting.
The Vette Kart is located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and is offered with a starting bid of $14,000 or “Buy it Now” for $19,000. The seller states that they’ve got $25,000 into the build, not including the labor.
The hand-built tube chassis sports C4 Corvette suspension front and rear. Upfront there’s 500hp Chevy engine with side mount exhaust that’s mated to a 6-speed manual Corvette transmission. Power exits through a 3.31 rear end and gets to the ground via C7 Corvette wheels and tires. There’s no body (yet) so curb weight comes in at just 2,182lbs. That’s roughly 1,000lbs lighter than a similarly powered C6 Z06.
Some of the other performance items on the car include a C4 Magnesium bell housing, aluminum seats with 5-point belt harnesses, a Wilwood brake pedal system, and a RCI 12-gallon fuel cell. You can check out all of the build details in the eBay ad.
The new owner can either add a body of their choosing or just run it as-is. Just by looking we’re not sure a Corvette body would fit, but we’ll leave that decision to the buyer. The big wings make it look like a riot to drive.
The eBay listing states that the “car is very easy drive and rides very well with the adjustable coil overs and corvette suspension” and included a YouTube video to demonstrate the kart’s operation.
