The 2017 car show season isn’t done just quite yet. As the Midwest weather takes a colder turn we’ll just head indoors for the annual Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals in Chicago. Easily one of the best indoor show in the country, MCACN (as the cool kids say it) celebrates the best of the best from the muscle car era.
As usual, there’s a stellar batch of special displays on deck for MCACN attendees. On the Corvette front, you can check out cars competing for the Corvette Central Triple Diamond award. There’s also a stellar selection of 1967 Corvettes for your perusal in the Corvette Legends display. Expect to get your fill L88’s, L71’s, stock and racers here. We’re sure to see other great Vettes throughout the show in other displays like the Barn Finds and Classes of 1967 and 1972.
The 50th-anniversary F-Body will showcase 13 rare and desirable Firebirds alongside 13 of their Chevrolet Camaro cousins. More F bodies will be shown in the 1967 Z28 invitational as well as in the Fabulous Formulas display. The Ford fans will marvel at the Kars of Kar Kraft invitational while MOPAR enthusiasts will flock to the Shaker Hood display. Elsewhere you can ogle all the chrome and horsepower in the Pure Stock Muscle Drags, Studebaker Legends II, and the Mustang and Shelby Pinnacle display and completion.
MCACN will be hosting their usual smattering of celebrities as well. Former Motor City Bureau fantasy girlfriend Courtney Hansen will be assisting with 12 of the official unveilings. Dennis Pittsenbarger will be co-hosting and appearing at various displays throughout the show. Other automotive faces appearing include Jim Luikins, Jim Mattison, and Rusty Small. Authors Dr. Pete Gimenez, Diego Rosenberg, Geoff Stunkard, and others will be signing their latest works.
Our good friend Dan McCrary is the featured artist this year. He’ll be showing several new pieces as well as some brand new works. Stop by Dan’s booth and tell him CorvetteBlogger sent you!
Obviously there’s no shortage of things to do at MCACN. We didn’t even tell you about the swap meet, vendors, cars for sale, band, kids’ activities, and seminars. So while you’ve still got time, start clearing your weekend calendar and make a plan to get to Chicago.
We’ll be in Chicago all weekend so keep an eye on our Facebook and Twitter feeds for updates and photos from the show. If you’re going to the show this weekend too be sure to post some of your photos on our Facebook page or hit us up on Twitter.
