Chevrolet to Export Five 2017 Corvette Grand Sport Collector Editions to Japan

The 2017 Corvette Grand Sport Collector Edition is already a pretty rare item in the United States, what with just 850 going on sale in America.

That’s nothing compared to the exclusivity in Japan, though, which will receive just five of the special Grand Sports, all in automatics and all coupes.

In all, 1,000 of the Watkins Glen Gray Metallic with Tension Blue fender hash striped Collector Editions will be built in Bowling Green for the 2017 model year, with 150 of those going outside the United States.

Other exterior touches include the carbon flash badge package, as well as satin black full-length stripes and black cup-style wheels.

The interior, meanwhile, features unique Tension Blue full-leather and suede-wrapped interior trim, two-tone seats with blue accent stitching, seat and steering wheel emblems, interior aluminum hash marks, custom sill plates, carbon-fiber interior trim, floor mats with Grand Sport logo, and a numbered plaque so everyone knows your place in the Grand Sport hierarchy.

We’re not sure what the price will wind up being in Japan, but the base price in the United States for the coupe is $80,190 and $84,190 for the convertible.

In addition to the availability of the five 2017 Collector Editions, Chevrolet is also offering 15 Corvette Grand Sports with the Heritage Package that will be available in three colors, Corvette Racing Yellow, Arctic White and Black.
