[VIDEO] Package Thief Driving a Yellow Corvette Arrested in San Antonio

Don’t underestimate the power of social media.

Don’t use a flashy yellow Corvette as a get-away vehicle.

A man and woman in San Antonio, Texas probably wish they had listened to this advice.

It all started when a man in a yellow C6 Corvette coupe began stealing packages off several porches in the Stone Oak area.

One surveillance video shows him strolling innocently up to the porch of a home, where he casually takes a package and hops into a Corvette that is visible in the background.

The video and a description of his “hey, look at me!” Corvette was soon posted on social media sites, including The Sassy Moms of Stone Oak on Facebook.

The San Antonio Police Department got a call from a neighbor who spotted the yellow Corvette (remember, it’s only a small percentage of them painted in that color!) on Friday afternoon.

Police say a woman was behind the wheel of the Corvette, which had stolen packages inside (remember, the coupe has a huge storage area behind the two seats!).

Now, the man in the video faces theft charges, and the woman has been arrested for being an accomplice (not to mention for an unrelated outstanding felony warrant).

Also helping to crack the case was the fact that many victims filed police reports, which SAPD says was beneficial to them.

It’s a good thing for the victims that the accused crooks were driving a Corvette and not some boring car like an Accord or Camry.
