The Callaway Corvette Z06 is Set to Debut at the Corvette Museum's Bash

Does the thought of a Corvette Z06 with 650 horsepower and 650 lbs-ft of torque make you think it’s lacking in power? Then you’ll be pleased to hear that Callaway Cars will be showing off their new C7 Callaway Corvette Z06 this weekend at the National Corvette Museum’s Bash event.

Callaway has yet to release any performance details on the Z06, pending final validation, but in a sneak-peek email sent out by the company today, Callaway says their new GenThree supercharger system has 32% more displacement than the stock Z06’s supercharger. Much like its C7 Callaway Corvette Stingray that debuted last year at the Bash, the Callaway Corvette Z06 shows a supercharger intercooler sticking through the hood.

Callaway engineers say that by exposing the supercharger’s plenum to outside air flow, the design takes advantage of the significant charge air temperature reduction provided by convective cooling. The design also helps maintain nearly ambient charge air temperature with exceptionally low air restrictions. The supercharger housing geometry was configured to allow further optimization of the charge air path which leads to increased power and torque without the compromises faced with underhood solutions.
