It’s time for another CorvetteBlogger Poll! This time we want to hear from those of you who’ve attended Corvette Funfest.
Mid America’s Corvette Funfest turns 21 this weekend. The annual 4-day celebration at Mid America Motorworks’ HQ in Effingham, Illinois runs this Thursday through Sunday. Countless activities fill the docket, but we want to know what’s your favorite part of Corvette Funfest?
Funfest began in 1994 as a way for Mid America to thank their customers for the patronage. That year 350 Corvettes and 1,200 people attended. The gathering has now grown into massive event featuring seminars, celebrity judged car shows, a road tour, and even a Saturday night concert. Attendance this year should be somewhere around 15,000 Corvettes and 45,000 enthusiasts.
Thursday welcomes attendees with the Fun Run road tour, celebrity choice awards, and a Downtown party in Effingham. Friday and throughout weekend there are tours of Performance Choice and the MY Garage collection. In addition there are seminars with topics ranging from The History of the NCRS to Corvette suspension upgrades. Other activities include Remote Control Car races, rum tasting, and the annual Charity event at the Yager’s home.
Saturday continues on with more seminars including sessions with Paul Koerner and Brittany George, seminars on the NCM sinkhole, Corvette Storage, and Corvette buying at auctions among others. Other activities include a C7 walk around, a fashion show, and the Saturday night concert featuring 38 special.
